Tavern Notices & Updates
Latest revisions from the realm builders.
- UI Polish: The Sandbox world map has been redrawn with a little picture for every area. Tap a neighbouring area on the map to travel there (the compass buttons still work). The Interactive Die and Inventory headings now match the World Map heading.
- Gameplay Update: Five new achievements for crafting and shopping: Regular Customer, Lucky Find, Rarer Than Gold, Apprentice Smith and Master Smith.
- Gameplay Update: A π Shop button (usable in Eikfell Hollow in Sandbox mode) lets you buy everyday gear and supplies and sell your spares, all at fixed prices. Equipped items, key items and Legendary items are protected from being sold by accident.
- Gameplay Update: Crafting! Defeated enemies can now leave Mithril Ore and (rarely) Orichalcum Ore. Take them to the β Blacksmith in Eikfell Hollow to upgrade ordinary gear to Rare (item + 2 Mithril Ore + gold) and Rare gear to Legendary (item + 2 Orichalcum Ore + gold). The Barrow's guardian always drops Mithril Ore.
- Story Quest: The Barrow has a new mechanism - a rusted lever in the Old Well Chamber. The Sealed Crypt is now genuinely sealed until someone pulls it.
- Safety & Account: Every Dungeon Master reply now has a small β Report link so you can flag anything offensive. You can also delete your account from the β Account button in the game, or at eikfellhollow.online/account-deletion.
- Gameplay Update: Achievements! A π Achievements button (under Download Save File, and on the Choose Your Adventure screen) tracks 20 milestones across all your heroes - from your first kill to clearing the Barrow.
- Gameplay Update: Merchants are safer to deal with. Asking for a price never sells anything, only the items you name are sold, and equipped, key and Legendary items (the Emberheart Amulet included) are never sold unless you name them.
- UI Polish: On eikfellhollow.online you can now install Eikfell Hollow as an app on your phone (use "Install app" or "Add to Home screen" in your browser's menu).
- UI Polish: A reminder now appears when you create a character explaining that your progress is saved in your browser and recommending you download your save file regularly.
- Gameplay Update: The Emberheart Amulet is now a true Legendary reward: +6 AC and +2 Intelligence, shown in purple.
- Bug Fix: New children are now properly added to your family instead of only appearing in the story, and existing children can no longer be wiped out by another family update.
- Gameplay Update: Rare items now show in blue and Legendary items in purple. Every item has a fixed value, and your inventory shows what a merchant will pay for it.
- Gameplay Update: Lord Aldric Vane's health now scales with your level, so the Barrow's final fight stays a challenge for stronger heroes (the Grave-Warder's Charm still halves it).
- Bug Fix: Changed the layout priority to allow update messages to show over the gameplay selection menu.
- UI Polish: A "new" badge now points out updates since your last visit, and the login screen returns every so often so you don't miss them.
- Bug Fix: The enemy health tracker in Sandbox mode no longer jumps around or vanishes in the middle of a fight.
- Story Quest: Some rooms now have things to interact with - hidden catches, trapped floor slabs - shown as buttons under the map. Be careful, not everything is safe.
- Story Quest: The dungeon map has been redrawn with proper rooms, corridors and doors, and a padlock on sealed passages.
- Gameplay Update: In Sandbox mode, little moments with your family, house or pet now turn up now and then.
- Gameplay Update: Stat bonuses from gear now show directly on your character sheet and change your AC, damage and (when your Constitution modifier rises) your maximum HP.
- Gameplay Update: Added new tiers of armour/weapons that add extra stats.
- Bug Fix: Fixed an issue where the purchase credit prompt was not displaying in mobile view.
- Game Mode: Added a new campaign mode with unique storylines and challenges.
- Bug Fix: Changed dice-rolls to be more consistently random so combat is more realistic.
- Mana System: Spells like Firebolt & Icebolt now consume mana! Rest at camps or use Mana Potions to recover.
- Quest Fixes: Quests no longer auto-claim early on random actions.
- UI Polish: Custom attack buttons and mobile sidebar navigation finalized.
- UI Polish: Added UI buttons for sidebars for mobile phone screens.
- Bug Fix: Fixed an issue where new users couldn't register.
- UI Polish: Changed code for the animated dice to make it roll more reliably with the DM's narrative.
- Bug Fix: Fixed multiple issues with save files. Players can no longer modify saves and attributes are no longer duplicated.
- Gameplay Update: Added function to start a family and purchase a house.
- Gameplay Update: Added racial stat bonuses to the character creation process.
- Gameplay Update: Changed weapons and armour to match the coding so the DM only awards useful items.
- Bug Fix: Changed the DM rules to enforce only awarding quest rewards on actual completion and not just because the player says they have completed one.
Dev Statement
I have been developing this game over a few months, and I'm excited to share the progress with you all.
- Eikfell Hollow is a passion project that runs by using Google's Gemini AI as the DM.
- I am hoping to create a rich and immersive experience for all players and over time I hope to migrate to the full AI model instead of the "lite" version which will hopefully give the DM a fuller range of responses.
- I welcome game suggestions and feedback from the community and I hope to bring you a gaming experience that's fun.
- I also want to replace all of the current AI created images with real artist's work when financially possible.
- Thank you for your support and have fun playing. -- Wibbs
